Fairfield Police: Woman Stole Perishables and Multiple Mucinex Bottles

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield woman who attempted to steal perishable food and six bottles of Mucinex from a town supermarket was arrested Friday, police said.

Loss prevention staff at the Villa Avenue Stop & Shop said Johanna Landaeta, 37, of Benton Street, concealed items in a reusable grocery bag and attempted to walk out of the store around 3:30 p.m., police said.

The groceries totaled $63.54.

Landaeta was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 22.
